Live flowers or artificial bouquets, buckets or vases with plants: when the first frosts have already scared us, let’s consider how to decorate the graves for All Hallows’ Eve. We suggest taking into account how long the chosen decoration method will remain really beautiful.
LIVE FLOWERS
Chrysanthemums – the most popular blooming flowers used to decorate graves. Bright flowers can be a great detail if a moderate, dark, coniferous setting does not have an accent. Chrysanthemums can be planted, buried with the pot or simply placed. If the plate is low, it may not be visible at all. Chrysanthemums they are also used in various compositions with pine or fir branches.
The disadvantage is the effect of more intense frosts. Although live flowers are always more fun to look at after a few cold nights chrysanthemums it will turn black, then the entire composition will have to be thrown away.
Heathers, heathers – another alternative to live flowers. Although some lack brightness, the delicacy of heather is very suitable in graves. If the cemetery is set up in a pine forest, these acidophilic plants are very suitable. Heather they look great until spring – even if they no longer delight in their colors, they retain their structure. Therefore, you can also use them to form a temporary low hedge or a cross in the center of the grave.
ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS
Artificial flowers can be used to create various compositions. The advantages are bright colors and long service life.
However, these advantages can also turn into disadvantages. We have to be careful with bright colors. Tombs are places of seriousness and concentration, not celebration. Therefore, soft shades, non-screaming colors and moderate solutions are suitable here. If we decorated with a bouquet of brightly colored flowers, and then the relatives added three more that didn’t match each other, we would already have chaos. And if the quality is mediocre, plastic rings in neon colors will look cheap and completely out of place.
If you decide to use artificial flower arrangements, choose good quality, natural-looking bouquets in modest colors.
Long Lasting: Bouquets do not decay, you will have to throw them into the container in spring.
DRIED FLOWERS
Various compositions are also created with natural materials: dried flowers, coniferous branches, moss. Wild flowers or specially grown flowers can be used (slamučia, sausika, kermek, zunda, bandreniibrooms and spikes of ornamental grasses, hydrangeas rings). The flowers can be dyed, but the natural ones retain their color until spring.
The advantage is that bouquets of natural flowerswhich fit organically into the environment, do not disturb the balance. Coniferous branches are usually stuck in a special floristic sponge, they hold up well in the open air, the needles do not fall off, unlike Christmas trees kept in a warm house.

Mostly large and small are created bouquets of dried flowers, wreaths (a candle is placed in the center), less often – crosses.
Disadvantage: Natural dried flower bouquets require more knowledge and preparation year-round than artificial flowers, so they are less often found in stores.
DECORATE WITH THORN BRANCHES
Graves can be decorated using spruce, pine and thuja branches. You can come up with a variety of non-standard decorations, adapting to the environment of the tomb. Place the branches symmetrically on both sides, twist them into a circle and place a candle in the center – here’s a quick solution.
Do not tear the branches from the forest, but bring them from your garden or farmhouse: carefully cut an older and less visible branch, use it if you have pruned it.
Advantage: Perennials that have already been cut back or that look unsightly after the first frost can be covered with coniferous branches, e.g. blueberries, peonies and others.
