How to Hang a Christmas Wreath Without Damaging Your Door

A Christmas wreath on the front door is a wonderful decoration for the entire holiday season. You can buy a wreath or make it yourself, but the biggest question arises when you need to hang the wreath. Don’t want to drill holes in your front door or hammer nails there? Understandable. Here are some ways to hang a Christmas wreath without damaging your door.

  1. USE HOOKS WITH SPECIAL ADHESIVE TAPE

The Christmas wreath can be hung using a plastic hook glued to the door. Simple double-sided tape will not work, because it may leave traces of glue on the door later. If you want a safe and extremely clean result, use it special “Command” stripes.. Their peculiarity is that they do not stick, but come off: to remove the control strip, you have to pull it downwards: it becomes longer and longer until it finally comes off. No risk, the door will remain clean.

When purchasing ribbon, you need to pay attention to the weight of your wreath, because ribbons are divided based on the weight they support. You can find these strips in stationery stores, they also come with hooks

Attach it to the crown wire loopso you can hang the wreath. Before pasting, clean the door surface to avoid dust. Clean, tape, hang and the job is done.

  1. TIE WITH A RIBBON

If your door is wooden, it’s easier to use tape. Choose wide and resistant tape (e.g. satin), tie the wreath and leave two ends of the ribbons that will go towards the top of the door. Secure them with a stapler to the top edge of the door. The fasteners will not be visible, nothing bad will happen to the door, and the ribbon decoration will look very beautiful.

Pin the tape to the top edge of the wooden door.

Measure before hanging the length of the tape: The longer, the lower the crown will hang. The shorter, the higher the crown will be. Most often, the wreath is hung at eye level, so if the wreath is smaller, you will need a longer ribbon, and if it is larger, a shorter one will suffice.

If you don’t want the tape to be visible, you can apply a similar principle when hanging fishing linebut to ensure reliability, pay attention to fixing on the door edge.

This method of fastening is suitable only for wooden doors.

  1. HANG 2 CROWNS

A solution suitable for any type of door: hang two wreaths. You will need a ribbon that is not only wide and strong, but also long. Tie both wreaths with it and throw the ribbon through the door. Here you go: wreath on the outside of the door, wreath on the inside of the door. Two garlands, one ribbon – a simple solution.

In this case it is particularly important to choose the length of the ribbon carefully so that the garlands hang at the right height

If you choose different wreaths for outside and inside, it would be better if their weights were similar. Otherwise, the lighter crown will constantly rise upwards, and the heavy one will drag downwards. Of course, this is also fixed: attach additional decorations that have weight to the light one.

  1. HANG IT ON THE DOOR HOOK

In countries where Christmas wreaths for doors are very popular, you can purchase them easily special metal hooks. This is an S-shaped square hanger with the top hanging on the door and the wreath hanging from the bottom.

In Lithuania this year it was not possible to find such things, but whoever hangs the wreath on the internal door will be able to adapt to something.

Interior supply stores have hooks for the bathroom (even if from IKEA). A metal hook hanging on the top of the door is for towels or bathrobes. However, during the holiday season, you can use it perfectly to hang wreaths or other decorations. No holes, no nails.
